Note of Absence

Hello people.  As you may (or may not) notice, I haven't been updating the site for like, one week already.  I'm so freakin' tired!  I'm probably not gonna have time to update the site for quite a while because 1) I just started my full-time job (FINALLY!!!) and 2) I'm moving to a new place (just a tiny little studio, but at least it's mine).  I'll be so ridiculously busy it's not even funny.  But once I settle into the new place and get used to the commute, I'll hopefully be able to update this site regularly again.

Until then, hasta la vista baby

My free samples arrived!

From a previous entry, you can get free wedding favor samples here.  So I placed an order for my 3 free samples, and I got my boyfriend to order another 3 for me (hehehe...hehe...).  I've received all 6 of them!!!  Yay!

Here's what I got:
"Two peas in a pod" salt & pepper shaker

"Cut out for each other" cookie cutters

"Love beyond measures" measuring spoons

And here's what I got my boyfriend to get for me:
"Key to my heart" bottle opener

"The perfect pair" salt & pepper shaker

And last, but not least, heart bottle stopper

And let me just say, the two peas in a pod is very, very, very, very cute.  I cannot emphasize enough.  Oh and everything else is also very cool, maybe except for the cookie cutter.  They just look like ordinary cookie cutters.

All in all, good deal.

The San Francisco Chocolate Factory

In all my years of living in the city (12-is that a long time?), I've never even heard of the SF Chocolate Factory until today.  It's moments like these I feel like such a homebody, don't know anything that goes on in the city, even though I live in the city.  *Sigh*  My boyfriend thinks I'm sheltered.

Anyhow, I think this would be pretty darn good desserts, for rehearsal dinners, for wedding favors, or a Saturday night.

I give you...Double Chocolate Vodka Earthquake Cake.

"You’ve never had a cake quite like this before: buttery, dense chocolate cake is drenched in StolichnayaTM vodka to give it a moistness and flavor that will jolt your taste buds!"

Man...I can't wait to go try it out.  Heck...I'm not waiting until Saturday night.  I might just swing by there tonight...

Maybe it's a good thing I never knew about the Chocolate Factory.  And now, it's too late.

The San Francisco Chocolate Factory

286 12th St., San Francisco, CA 94103.  Open Tues to Sat, 12-6pm.

Independence Day = "Wedding Blackout" Day

Having trouble deciding on a date?  I can't tell you which days are good, but TheKnot does give advice on which days you should avoid:

-Major Holidays (MLK, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving)

Why?  "Holiday weekend wedding have pros and cons. You've got an extra day for the festivities (and recovery!), plus it's easier to host the affair on Sunday, which is often less expensive than Saturday events. However, costs of travel and hotels may be higher. Also, having your wedding on a holiday weekend might adversely affect your guest list. Some families have standing holiday weekend plans or traditions that they'd prefer not to have disrupted."

-Religious Holidays (Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa)

Why?  "Be mindful of religious holidays (yours and your guests') when planning your wedding. There may even be restrictions at your house of worship as to whether you're allowed to marry at these times."

There are other notable holidays as well, such as Valentine's Day (costly!), Mother/Father's Day, Halloween, etc.

I've Struck Gold!

This is too good not to share.  Go to this link to get 3 free sample favors (you only pay shipping):

http://www.myweddingfavors.com/3free.html

Why should you care about these sample favors?  Because one of them is this:

Two Peas in a Pod salt & pepper shaker!  Ahhh...I still remember seeing them for the first time on Weddingbee...and soon I'll be seeing them IN MY HANDS!!!    They have other cool stuff for free, it took me a while to decide which ones to get.

Get them for yourself & pass on the news!
